Riddell SpeedFlex Size Chart and Fitting Guide
Use this guide to choose an adult Riddell SpeedFlex size and follow the correct adjustment sequence. Always use the fitting guide for the exact model named on the helmet.
Important: No football helmet can prevent serious head or neck injuries.
1. Measure head circumference
- Use a flexible measuring tape.
- Place it level around the head, 1 inch (2.5 cm) above the eyebrows.
- Record the measurement and repeat it to confirm the result.
2. Choose the adult size
| Size | Head circumference |
|---|---|
| S | Up to 52 cm |
| M | 52–56 cm |
| L | 56–60 cm |
| XL | 60 cm and above |
Between sizes: Start with the smaller size, then use the exact model guide to confirm a snug, comfortable fit.
This chart is for adult SpeedFlex sizing. Do not assume it applies to a different helmet model or youth shell; use the guide that matches the model label.
3. Adjust the fit in Riddell’s order
The standard SpeedFlex uses inflatable liners. Follow the exact model guide and adjust in this order:
- Crown pad
- Back and side liner
- Face-frame pads
- Occipital lock
The final fit should feel snug and comfortable, without specific pressure points. Recheck the fit after each adjustment.
4. Use the correct pump and needle
Use a Riddell hand pump with a lubricated 5/8-inch needle for the inflatable liners. Do not use an unverified PSI value; follow the exact model guide and its fit checks.
